Man, this site is awesome. I read so much fitness and nutrition information. It's rare to find something that stands out.
Does Bitar's book say anything for naturally skinny people who struggle to gain weight? I'll read the full book either way, just curious if you came across anything.
This is awesome. Last July I was on a work trip. Took a long hard look in the mirror and knew I needed to make changes. I started on Weight Watchers and did great. Then I stalled. Now I’m doing well with Intermittent Fasting because it’s something I can do long term. These newsletters always make me smile because they are relevant to my life :)
Exactly! I think also you can't think of it as a short term thing as much as a lifestyle decision. I don't think of rucking as something I will only do until I hit a certain fitness milestone. It's something I've woven into my life. Same with IF.
I really liked this, I have never thought about the fact, that the story of transformation is often the bait to lure you into the next diet. Diet culture in general (in my opinion) is toxic. In the realm of mental health disorders ,eating disorders have the highest morbidity rate, higher than alcohol, higher than drugs! But we don’t talk about it. The often innocent push to try the next hot diet just perpetuates the whole cycle of toxic diet culture. So thank you for not adding, “ I love xyz diet, and think you should all try it!”
What works for one person might not for 10 others. 🤍🤍🤍
I have been on a diabetic journey for many years. I have settled on a version of keto, but this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle. Low carbs work well with diabetes, but I can’t go back to eating carbs in a few months. That is the problem with the word diet, you must make I lifestyle change if your going to get life time success. I have been eating Keto for almost a year, I am off all my insulin and in better shape than I have ever been.

i devised my own 'diet' (I don't like that term as it implies 'temporaryness').
I call it the 4E's plan. It works in listing 4 things you do to lose weight and works in a reducing importance of weight loss ability:
1: Eat less (duh!)
2: Eat well
3: Exercise
4: Ever (forever, geddit?)
Which all means of course that it is a lifestyle change not a 'follow the plan' strictness.
Plenty more info on how to implement this plan too

Fantastic! I think it's great to try diets. Take what works, drop what doesn't. Find what works for you over the long run. Then follow it.

That’s such a great and important point about eating disorders and morbidity. We don’t talk about it enough. Thanks for reading.

That’s fantastic to hear. Keep up the great work!
