This is awesome! Fingers crossed on the raffle. It would make quite the setup. My travel is not nearly as far, but I’ll need plenty of gear to welcome a new baby. Hospital packing + diaper bag packing is no joke!
I keep thinking about buying a Bullet. I have travel backpacks, but none of them quite perform the way I'd like - there's always *something* wrong or off.
That desert scenery looks very familiar. One request for any possible future iteration would be tuckable shoulder straps. I have a Cotopaxi I use to travel and it is nice to tuck the shoulder straps away so they don’t get caught on stuff especially if you have to check the bag. Overall, looks like a great travel set up.
That would be a killer feature for packing the Bullet inside the GR2, too. I haven't tried this, but you probably could get away with stashing the straps inside the laptop compartment on the GR2 (assuming if you want to stash the straps, you don't have a laptop in there).
Given that the backpack is for adventure, as well as travel, I think it would be nice to have a built-in small first aid kit and a rapidly accessible tourniquet
You are really making me regret the new Yeti back pack that arrived for me last week. This two pack system just looks awesome. Great ideas/concept and awesome looking back.. maybe if I don't win the 15 L in the drawing I pick that one up!
Brilliant! I’ve developed a similar system based upon Alchemy Equipment. But, it’s not as elegant as this one. Your GR2 enhancements are excellent as well. If I was looking for new luggage, this would be top of my list.
I don't travel a lot but I do go to a fair number of dog events--tracking, conformation, agility, classes and I just spent the last 2.5+ years looking for a replacement for my <15 L 30 yo backpack which could hold two 32 oz water bottles, treats, collars leashes wallet, keys, etc. I finally this last month replaced it with 2 bags from RedOxx (I'll also replace a tote bag). Because there's almost nothing in this size range. And everything has to hold a laptop and almost nothing has outside pockets. All of which to say that, while it wouldn't quite have worked for me I'm cheering the 15L 2% pack and I wish there were more in this size range. :)
I've often wondered why a hi-viz interior wasn't an option on GoRuck's standard black packs...maybe because staring into the black hole that is a GoRuck pack is a designed to be a metaphor?
I *do* like the 500D on the Bullets we got at Don't Die (OG!) for the smaller bag - I wish my work laptop fit in the laptop compartment, though (16" Macbook Pro). The 1000D on my GR2 40L and GR1 21L is just so damn beefy, and I love the weight (2%ers DGAF).
That said, I'm more than a little tempted to upgrade my existing GR collection now... :D
Cool to see these, and I already picked up the Bullet.
Overall, I like it, but the top QAP is almost too small to be useful. The robic fabric is great, and I love the hi-viz interior. I'm unsure if I like the aquaguard zippers on the main compartment; I'm used to being able to "rip" open a GORUCK if needed, can't do that with the aquaguard zippers.
Disappointed the 40L GR2 was chosen for the larger bag. It's just too long to properly fit most people for comfortable all day use. Sold my 40L GR2 years ago. Had the 34L GR2 or 35L GR3 been chosen I probably would have bought that too.
I've never had an issue with the 40L being flagged as too large.
The thinking behind 40L GR2 is that we're building a system. One pack is your main travel bag as you move to the destination. The other is a smaller day pack once you've established a home base. I've always appreciated the extra 6L in the 40.
Given the nature of my work, I like the Aquaguard zippers. To each his own!
I keep reminding myself gear not stuff. Because I have perfectly acceptable travel backpacks and day packs. But it just looks so cool.

Will we be able to purchase just the patch?

What about the one on the new pack? Different logo.
Dunno, I hope it will be available separately at some point 🤞

I dig it! Looks like an Evergoods pack.

Am I blind or do the bags not show up on GoRuck's website for other people? I see them on Huckberry 🤔

Thank you, it wasn't showing up when I first posted here, but I see them now!

As a side note, the one time I traveled with my 40L GR2 it was gated checked for being "too large." Another reason I don't think it's a great choice.

Totally understand trying to maximize space; that just comes with some cons with the 40L GR2.
I don't dislike the aquaguard zippers, they're just not as smooth as RC zippers, so worth mentioning.
