As an 82 year old MD who has struggled with early awakening and ruminating since age 8, I've found Inositol 2000 Mg helpful: Inositol stimulates the production of certain hormones in the body, including dopamine and serotonin. The so-called feel-good hormones can help alleviate mood issues and anxiety-related symptoms.
I have tracked my sleep though the eight sleep app and found that alcohol and sugar increase my average resting heart rate by over 10 bpm and I feel it the next day. My cardiologist recommended taking Magnesium for an irregular heart beat and I found that if I take a triple formulation of 300 mg about a half hour before bed it knocks me out and I now fall asleep easily.
I wonder if driving in the car for 15+ min in the first 90 min of your day counts towards sun exposure like you're talking about? I would assume so? Not as chill as quietly sitting in the sun for 15 min first thing, though.
My partner sleeps cold and I sleep hot. I’ve considered the temperature regulating mattress toppers, like the Eight or bed jet. They are super expensive. Does anyone have any experience with them?
I recently self-published a book to Amazon called "The Sleep Solution", where I research and explore some of the more recent sleep wellness trends, providing an unbiased view backed by science and studies to see how effective each of them are. Hopefully it helps others get a better sleep.
Friendly neighborhood Virgo here! Rag on me for nitpicking, but a tweet is not a meme. That was a link to a tweet about Dr. Huberman’s sunlight recommendation, and only partially. Might wanna change the language. He’s definitely done a GREAT JOB of disseminating his love of neuroscience. One of my faves. And Dr. Attia.
I worry about my sleep. I answered yes to the four questions. This article has been a huge relief. Thank you.
Bam! That's what we're after. Rest easy :). I'm glad you found the article useful.

Any particular brand or form you recommend most? Thanks for sharing your octogenarian wisdom!!
Never heard of this. Brilliant thinking. Thanks for this.

AutoSleep and Rise Sleep App are my faves.
Another one I am new to, thank you. I will have a look into this.
In my experience, two of these are very effective for returning to sleep within 30-40 minutes: Nutricost Inositol Capsules 500mg, 240 Capsules
Really great piece, enhanced by others who pass on great ideas too.

Thank you so much for this article. It really helped me wrap my mind around sleep and develop a sleep mindset and sleep hygiene routine.
